Architectonic Bronze designs the emblem for the Association of Journalists of Almeria
Architectonic Bronze, we have had the honor to design and manufacture the new emblem of the Association of Journalists of Almeria on the occasion of its 85th anniversary. We must recognize that our team received this assignment with great enthusiasm because it has allowed us to work with this professional organization of substantial career and whose work in defense of journalism is recognized beyond provincial boundaries. But it has also given us the opportunity to do a different job from the usual, that focuses on the design and manufacture of large areas of bronze in architecture and interior. Therefore, we have assumed as a new challenge, to develop an emblem to identify journalists from Almeria and to be proud.
After an intense work of documentation, exchange of views and essays, creative and design department chose to make a steel pen. As pen traditionally has been the symbol that has identified the journalistic profession and since, in this 2016, we commemorate the fourth anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes, we chose to play just a cervantine pen.
As for the base of the emblem, it is noteworthy that is an exclusive Architectonic Bronze design with convex curves based on trying to provide movement to the work as a whole. Regarding the material used for this reproduction, we focus on the type ‘corten steel’ because we understand that this metal and journalistic vocation share specific qualities such as durability and strength.
With these emblems designed by Architectonic Bronze, the Association Journalists of Almeria recognized 17 professionals who met more than 20 years in the group. The handover took place on Friday 13 May, at the Archaeological Museum of Almeria, in an emotive ceremony where the Freedom of Expression 2016 Award was also granted to the porCausa Foundation, which was collected by the renowned journalist Gumersindo Lafuente.
